Presbyopia
Presbyopia is the optical condition in wich the patient looses its ability for reading and is due to age.
It’s a normal physiological process and it can be compared to the inability to focus a camera for near vision.
The camera simply looses its ability for near focus.
This problem starts around the age of 43-44 and Perfect Vision offers several options for the correction of presbyopia.
- 1. You can find this at your local optical store simply by asking what is your glass prescription. Send this information to us by filling this form and we will help you find out if you are a candidate for this.
- MONOVISION. It´s a laser visual correction in which one eye (dominant eye) is targeted for far vision and the other eye (non dominant eye) is targeted for near vision.
- 2. Two popular intraocular lenses exist in present days for the correction of far and near vision. They are mainly used after cataract surgery and clear lens extraction.
- This means that patients undergoing cataract surgery have the option to become lens free after the procedure with this modern technology.
- Clear lens extraction, means that in some cases, where patients have reach their fifties, but have NOT develop a cataract yet, they still have the option of lens independence for far and near, with this technology.
- It means that this intraocular lens can be implanted in the anatomical place where you will develop a cataract later on in your life. With this type of procedure you will gain good distance vision and good near vision and you will never develop a cataract.
This fantastic intraocular lenses wil allow you to see near and far.
This are usually implanted in the eye after a cataract surgery.
