Intravitreal Injections
Intravitreal injections are one of the most effective and safest treatments for various retinal diseases such as age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and vascular occlusions.
This procedure consists of administering medication directly inside the eye using very fine needles and topical anesthesia (eye drops), making it practically painless. The most commonly used drugs are anti-angiogenics, which block the growth of abnormal blood vessels and reduce the fluid that damages the retina.
The treatment is quick, outpatient, and requires minimal recovery time, helping preserve vision and, in many cases, improve it. Depending on the diagnosis, it may be done as a single session or in scheduled series every few weeks.
